Case study
Green tech start up
Scope of work:
research, brand strategy
A US-based sustainability start up had developed a ground breaking approach to long-term renewable energy storage, but lacked the brand clarity to bring the product to market. Alongside a Chicago-based agency, I carried out research on the technology, sector, competitive landscape, and target markets. In addition to in-depth meetings with the founders and technologists, this enabled us to develop the brand strategy for the start up, including definition, positioning and messaging. From this work, we were asked to develop an investor pitch to assist in securing future funding.
“Faced with a steep learning curve on emerging energy storage technologies and a very short timeline to reach competency, Rebecca didn’t flinch. She brought passion and an insatiable curiosity to this project, delivering a fine-grain assessment of a rapidly evolving marketplace characterized by arcane jargon and overly optimistic technology claims. Her level-headed analysis helped us move quickly to a differentiated messaging strategy and a compelling investor pitch.”
